When I found out that my friend Joel had unexpectedly passed away back in 2015, it felt so surreal. The tragic news left me and all of my high school friends feeling sorrow, knowing that we would never see him again. To this day I still can't fully comprehend the situation because it's been so hard to process. The only thing that keeps me happy is the memories that we made, hanging out everyday in high school, laughing, and having a good time.

Mental health doesn't have a face, and it's important that people who feel like they are in a dark place have somewhere to turn. That's why I'll be raising funds for mental health and suicide awareness this month.

Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. The Movember Foundation is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and I want to help them get there. Help me stop men dying too young.
